If you are considering bariatric weight loss surgery, or are in the early stages of your journey, you may be feeling a little alone. You may be wondering if you are making the right decision and if you will be able to succeed.
Bariatric surgery includes a variety of procedures performed on people who are obese. Long term weight loss through the standard of care procedures is largely achieved by altering gut hormone levels responsible for hunger and satiety, leading to a new hormonal weight set point.

You are not alone
Millions of people have undergone bariatric surgery, and many of them have shared their stories online. In this blog post, we will share some real-life bariatric weight loss surgery success stories to give you inspiration and motivation as you continue on your journey.
As someone who is currently going through the bariatric journey, I know what it feels like going at this almost completely alone. Even with family support, they don’t know or understand what you are going through.
I will be the first one to tell you that I will grab that handful of chocolate morsels, eat a whole pint of ice cream, half a package of cookies, and don’t even get me started on Twizzlers.
316 pounds! This was taken just a couple of months before I finally had enough and decided to talk with my doctor about other options.
I wanted to create a place where others who are going through bariatric surgery or another type of journey can receive inspiration, motivation, and tips from real-life surgery success stories. Stories from people who have been there and know what it takes to succeed.
This is why I created this website, to document My Bariatric Journey as well as to provide others with a place to go and learn along the way. I know that when I was first considering bariatric surgery, I would have loved to have had a resource like this.
If you are feeling alone or lost on your bariatric journey, take comfort in knowing that you are not alone and others have succeeded and are willing to help you succeed too. Others have been where you are and have succeeded. Let their stories inspire you to keep going and never give up on your dreams of a healthier, happier life.
Bariatric surgery is a big decision, but it can change your life for the better. These bariatric weight loss surgery success stories are proof of that. So if you are considering having the surgery, don’t let anything hold you back. You can do this. We are rooting for you!
It’s hard doing this alone – I get it!
Even when you have friends going through a diet, they don’t know or understand exactly what you are going through. They will never understand the struggle of watching them eat anything they want, knowing that while you are waiting for approval, you can’t eat it, or you have to eat a quarter of what they are.
This Is Not a Fad Diet
Going through a bariatric weight loss program is nothing like going through Whole 30, Ketogenic, Paleo, Vegan, etc. I’ve done every single one of those diets in the past, but this is different. While we use aspects of each, no one diet is one size fits every person going through this type of program.
My blog will offer you inspiration, encouragement, motivation, & tips from my real-life bariatric weight loss journey. My goal is to keep you as informed as possible about things that have worked for me, not worked for me, worked for others, not worked for others, as well as tips that my wellness team at the hospital has provided to me.

My Quote For My Journey Is:
Even when I fall and fail, I learn.
Therefore I grow and I will have success.
– Me (Anna)
I came up with this phrase because I used to get so hung up on failing, thinking that I would never succeed. Until one day I realized that each of my failures was a success. I learned what not to do, what to change, what to do differently, and what to try just one more time.
